Implant-grade titanium, nothing less
What goes in a fresh piercing matters as much as how it’s pierced. Every piece used at Stacks by Syd is hypoallergenic, implant-grade titanium — no mystery metals, ever. You choose your jewelry with Syd at your appointment.
Nickel-free
Nickel is the usual culprit behind itchy, angry piercings. Implant-grade titanium doesn't contain it.
Light & comfortable
Titanium weighs far less than steel, so there's less pull on a piercing while it heals.
Flat-back by default
A smooth disc sits behind the ear instead of a butterfly back — nothing to poke, trap dirt or snag.

Jewelry questions
What metal do you pierce with?
Only hypoallergenic, implant-grade titanium from trusted jewelers. It's the same class of material used for medical implants, and it's the safest choice for a healing piercing.
Why not surgical steel?
“Surgical steel” isn't one specific material, and most of it contains nickel — the most common cause of metal reactions in piercings. Implant-grade titanium is nickel-free and lighter, so it's used for every piercing here.
Is jewelry included in the piercing price?
Yes. Each piercing fee already includes a selection of jewelry options. Upgrades start at $5, and your final quote is confirmed at your appointment.
What is a downsize, and do I need one?
A fresh piercing is fitted with a slightly longer post to leave room for swelling. Once that settles — around 2–3 months for cartilage — the post is swapped for a shorter one so it doesn't catch or tilt. A post downsize is $15.
Can you change my jewelry for me?
Yes. A jewelry change on a healed piercing is $15 and can be booked online.
When can I switch to a hoop?
Once the piercing is fully healed. Rings move more than studs, which irritates a healing piercing — for a nostril, wait a full year.
Need a downsize or a change?
Post downsizes and jewelry changes are $15 and can be booked online, alongside new piercings.
