Daith piercing

The daith goes through the small inner fold at the heart of the ear. A snug ring here frames the whole ear from the inside, and it's tucked away enough to be well protected while it heals.

It depends on having a defined fold to pierce through. Anatomy is checked first, and if yours isn't suited Syd will say so.

Does a daith piercing hurt?

A slow, firm pressure rather than a quick pinch, because the fold is thick. It passes quickly once the jewelry is in.

Everyone feels piercings differently. Syd talks you through each step and never rushes — and a single-use hollow needle is far gentler than a piercing gun.

Jewelry

Healing & aftercare

How long does a daith piercing take to heal?

Expect 3–12 months. Clean it with sterile saline twice a day and otherwise leave it alone.

Full aftercare guide
  • Skip in-ear earbuds on that side until it has settled.
  • Rinse well in the shower — shampoo and conditioner collect in the fold.
  • Don't rotate the ring to clean it.

Daith piercing questions

How much is a daith piercing?

A daith piercing is $45, which includes a selection of jewelry options. Upgrades start at $5.

Does a daith piercing help with migraines?

Some people say theirs did, but there's no reliable evidence that it does. Get a daith because you love how it looks, and see a doctor about migraines.
