Does a helix piercing hurt?

How long does a helix piercing take to heal?
Expect 3–12 months — cartilage looks healed long before it actually is. Clean it with sterile saline twice a day and otherwise leave it alone.
Full aftercare guide- Avoid sleeping on it; a travel or donut pillow takes the pressure off.
- Be careful with hair, hats, masks and over-ear headphones.
- Plan on a post downsize around 2–3 months, once the initial swelling has fully settled — a shorter post stops the jewelry from catching and tilting.

It's pierced with a flat-back stud. Rings move and put pressure on a fresh cartilage piercing, which slows healing — a hoop goes in once it's fully healed.
