Flat piercing
The flat is the widest open stretch of the upper ear — a small canvas. It's where larger and more decorative pieces sit best: clusters, starbursts, bezel rows, moons and butterflies.
With that much room, exactly where it goes matters. The spot is chosen with you so it balances the rest of your ear.

Does a flat piercing hurt?
A solid pinch through slightly thicker cartilage, then a dull warmth.
Everyone feels piercings differently. Syd talks you through each step and never rushes — and a single-use hollow needle is far gentler than a piercing gun.

How long does a flat piercing take to heal?
Expect 3–12 months. Clean it with sterile saline twice a day and otherwise leave it alone.
Full aftercare guide- Sleeping on it is the most common cause of irritation — use a travel pillow.
- Larger tops catch on hair and towels; pat dry rather than rubbing.
- Plan on a post downsize around 2–3 months, once the initial swelling has fully settled — a shorter post stops the jewelry from catching and tilting.

How much is a flat piercing?
A flat piercing is $40, which includes a selection of jewelry options. Upgrades start at $5.

A helix goes through the rolled outer rim of the ear. A flat sits on the smooth plane of cartilage just inside and below that rim.
